“Small Office Home Office (SOHO) group of the McHenry Area Chamber is dedicated to promoting, developing and strengthening each individual member as well as educating and expanding public awareness on what SOHOs have to offer." The McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce established McHenry County’s first chamber directed Small Office Home Office Committee in 1998. The goal of this committee was to provide a support group for these highly specialized cottage based industries in McHenry County. Since 1998, the Chamber has served a wide variety of small businesses from telecommunication firms to accountants. All have one factor in common, the challenge of wearing all the hats, being the CEO of their organizations. The Chamber’s support group for Small Office Home Office helps small business owners become the best entrepreneur they can be through sharing marketing ideas, financial skills, and day-to-day frustrations. The group is led by co-chairs Adriana Zarate, Terra Scape Landscape & Design, Inc. 815-385-9045, and Helen Riggs of Any Key Computer, 815-331-6910. SOHO meets the third Monday of each month at 7:00 pm at American Community Bank, 1500 S. Route 31, McHenry. **Due to Martin Luther King holiday in January and Presidents Day in February, both January and February meetings will be held at Prosperity Training, Inc., 3511 W. Elm Street, McHenry, 60050. The Small Office Home Office group featured the first all county Small Office Home Office Expo in February 2001. It was a hit displaying booths and ideas representing Small Office Home Office throughout McHenry County. The public as well as chamber members were invited. This Expo is held annually. For
